    On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes. Two planes landed on the World Trade Center in New York; one was flown to the Pentagon, while the last crashed in a farm field. In total, 3,000 people died (CNN, “September 11 Anniversary Facts”). I conducted my first interview with my father: Paul Peterson. My father has been the Director of Operations at Abbott/Abbvie Laboratories for 27 years. He manages the daily operations of his department: caring for animals, creating reports, conducting interviews, etc. On the morning of September 11, 2001, he was showing an interviewee around the labs when another employee came upon them and informed them that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. His first thought was that the plane had veered off course and accidentally crashed into the building. When he heard about the second plane, he knew it was deliberate. Upon learning that all air traffic was canceled in the United States, he was frightened by the scale of the incident. He told me that almost all Americans had been changed by it....
