Problem and CauseThe initial problem was that exchange students are unable to communicate with professors and classmates in a classroom environment. Exchange students are foreign students from another country who attend an academy in another country. Imagine yourself in the shoes of an exchange student. How frustrating would it be to not be able to communicate with your classmates, understand lessons in class, or even ask questions in class. This was a major problem in most exchange academies in Europe due to the large language barrier between them. This issue poses a learning threat to two parties: the home country and the exchange students. The exchange students' goal of studying abroad was to learn more about the country they were going to visit. However, a significant language barrier may minimize their learning experience. Classmates and teachers are also at a loss. By not being able to communicate with their exchange students, they risk losing their chances of discovering a new perspective. The Global Experience has recognized this critical issue and is working to address it. History The Global Experience Organization was established in 2005 in Munster, Germany. It started as a classroom project between teachers at an academy for exchange students to learn the language and communicate with each other. The project involved making videos that teach various subjects taught at the academy; the topics were often language-related. The program was created for exchange students from Schiller Gymnasium in Munster and partner schools in Namibia and Poland. Additionally, exchange students have started using online dialogue as a tool to learn the language and improve their classroom skills. If everyone in the world had a good education, we would have fewer global problems, less hunger for words, and technologies would be way beyond their time. In reality, education can change everything.
