    Native women are subjected to violence and discrimination against women, the government ignores their basic social services and are driven from their land. Like No Name Women, the indigenous women of the Philippines, "urged development organizations to provide support and active involvement in the Cordilleran women's movement." On March 8, 1987, indigenous women from across the Cordillera came together to establish a program to address the needs of women in the region. Women in the Cordillera have faced many challenges, including gender bias. Women who do similar work to men are paid less than men and opportunities for women are limited.
