Essay / My Fateful Day: A Short Story - 2126
The incessant ringing of my phone is getting really annoying. I got out of the tub and wrapped myself in a towel. I walked out of the bathroom slowly, afraid I might slip. I got safely out of the danger zone and grabbed my phone to silence it. Not that I don't like Young Bae's voice, but it's getting tiring hearing the same thing over and over again. I took it upon myself to finally change the tone of my alarm clock. Normally Bae would change it for me. I smiled sadly. There was a message from him saying he would be returning late from Japan after his tour. I didn't answer. It's a norm for him. I'm not the texting type. I checked the news and saw there was a celebrity scandal. “TAEYANG OF BIGBANG CAUGHT LEAVING THE HOTEL WITH THE YURI GENERATION OF GIRLS” My first reaction was to read the whole thing. It is said that he walked out of the hotel hand in hand with Yuri early in the morning. I knew it. No wonder these days he avoided me, came home late and everything wasn't the same. With that, I packed my bags and left everything he had given me; some rings, hoodies and mix tapes. I left it on the coffee table in the living room. Not like he'd come back here anyway. The first place I thought of was my old apartment. But it will be too obvious. I can't go there. Where can I go? Oh yes! I can go where he wouldn't go. The place he hated the most. Why am I thinking so much? He wouldn't even look for me anyway. I bet he wanted me to leave a long time ago so he could take him there. But prevention is better than cure. I left for the place he despised, my old workplace, Club Ellui. Over the years we were together, he had managed to get me to quit my job here. I work part time as a mixologist at this club in n...... middle of paper...... check in on me from time to time. I ignored them every time. Tonight will be night. I will be free from everyone's lives. And they will be happy and their peace will not be disturbed. The parasite will eventually be eliminated from the host's body. I left letters for everyone on my table. I know they will find them on the table soon, but then it will be too late. I smiled knowingly. I'm finally ready. After all these years, I'm finally ready. Even though I feel a little melancholic about it, I know it's for the best. Goodbye... And if our destinies are truly linked to those of each other, may we meet again. Annyeong everyone~!
