  • Essay / Symbolism in the Mask of the Red Death - 1001

The first apartment in the castle was blue in color. The blue color bedroom is the calm and peaceful bedroom; moreover, the blue-colored room was the lively and pleasant place in which the characters of the masquerade traveled. In the short story “The Masque of the Red Death,” the characters gathered their gathering inside each room; moreover, the character's migration to the room would be his last hour of life. The second apartment in the short story “The Mask of the Red Death” was green in color, which matches the definition of nature. The green color should represent the last natural color and closer to the life the characters would live inside the castle. The third piece is bright orange and depicts the adulthood of the characters' lives. As adults, the quirky characters are the ones who relate most to the orange room. In the short story "The Masque of the Red Death", Edgar Allan Poe uses all colors to describe the characters as they age until they are born.
