Wealth inequality; It's not a topic that many people would choose to make a YouTube video about. However, earlier this year, a video on this topic went viral and has been viewed more than 12 million times on YouTube. It's called Wealth Inequality in America, and was produced by YouTube user Politizane. Several topics are discussed throughout the video, including the 1% argument. It is argued and supported by data that 1 percent of the U.S. population owns the majority of the nation's wealth. The video seeks a simple ...... middle of paper ......ence to stay interested in what is being discussed, There is no shortage of visual aids in this video. The entire video is filled with graphics and animations. The use of graphics alone may not have engaged the audience as much. Each graphic is presented and seemingly linked to the next through smooth animations. Graphics are presented in a range of colors. However, the colors are not too busy as this might distract viewers from watching all six minutes. The unique combination of graphics and animation creates a smooth transition from one topic to another. This allows the audience to follow the meaning of the video. All graphics are explained in voiceover and a key is also presented. This helped disseminate information to the public in a clear and meaningful manner. The simplistic way in which this is done is of great value to the audience's understanding of the subject..
