Essay / The Pros and Cons of Womanhood - 1664
I was single at the time, like most of the girls in my dorm, and much of the social discussion was about the boys in our classes. I remember one day I was walking to class and a girl I considered my friend was commenting on my appearance. She was surprised that I didn't dress up more for a class she knew I had with a boy I was interested in. I explained my logic to him – that if a guy didn't like the way I looked on a day to day basis, then there was probably a reason why I wouldn't want to be with them. She agreed with me, but told me that at the start of any relationship you need to dress up and put a little extra effort into your appearance. She informed me that boys are like fish, you have to attract fish before you can reel them in.
