    South Asian Partnership Pakistan (SAP-PK) came into existence in 1987, just a year after the lifting of military rule in Pakistan. Military ideology promoted the development and advancement of civil society organizations. The stifling political and social environment intensely demanded the creation and strengthening of civil society organizations. Keeping this sensitive need in mind, a group of intellectuals and social activists established the framework of the SAP-PK. The organization's goal was to empower Pakistan's poorest people to raise their voices for their rights. With energetic interest from international organizations, SAP-Pakistan has dedicated its efforts to work on different projects, striving to achieve its mission and organizational objective. From the beginning, SAP-Pakistan was aware that the path to achieving the goals was complex, but with time, perseverance and success in the struggle were possible. For this reality to exist, collaboration between local organizations was essential. Sap-Pakistan has applied its efforts and resources to uplift and increase the skills and capacities of small local civil society groups and organizations. In a short span of time, SAP-PK was able to raise an effective crop of individuals and organizations across Pakistan. The launched Resource Development Program (RDP) has gained popularity and recognition in Pakistan as well as South Asia. The aspiration of the program was to develop the capacities of community organizations in assessment and community needs, project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, resource mobilization, management financial, gender and much more, taking into account the needs and requirements of development agents with clarity on terms such as development, on the ground, relevance of their skills and experience. Since its inception in 1991, the Resource Development Program has continued to operate for over fourteen years, during which SAP-PK has trained over 500 organizations, supporting numerous community model projects. for mass empowerment. A large majority of the organizations that have been trained and supported technically and financially by SAP-Pakistan to date are still operational. Working closely with SAP-PK when and where necessary. A concrete example is that after the creation and launch of the local government system in 2000, SAP-PK, in coalition with 6 other national partner organizations, implemented the Democratic Rights and Citizens program. Education Program (DRCEP 2000-2003) in 87 districts of Pakistan. In addition to voter education, assistance and facilitation of political candidates, election selection and monitoring in more than 2,100 polling stations was carried out through the DRCEP program. SAP-PK implemented the DRCEP program with the support and help of RDP graduates.
