This is a direct excerpt from the King James Bible where God renames Abram to Abraham. Abraham became the father of many nations and today, three of the most popular religions that span many people groups and ethnicities can trace the roots of their beliefs back to Abraham. Three main religions originated from the Abrahamic traditions, this article will discuss the origins and evolution of these three religions and also analyze the reasons why these three religions divided. The origins of all Abrahamic religions can be traced back to Abraham. Abraham is believed to have lived around 2000 BCE, as written in Genesis, the first book of the Bible and the Torah. It is believed that Abraham was commanded by God to leave his father's house and inherit the land of Canaan. This was God's covenant with Abraham: “Leave your country, your family, and your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse whoever curses you; and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
