Honor and glory are the quest of Greek and Trojan warriors. This is also a great weakness in the character of Hector and Achilles. Both display great power on the battlefield. Furthermore, although Achilles is divine in his immortal struggle, he is childish and immature. Achilles seems to repel enemies at will and on the other hand, Hector is simply magnificent. Achilles learns of Patroclus' death and he cries and regrets. Odysseus and Diomedes disapprove of him. Agamemnon this time proposes a complete retreat, but Diomedes goes mad and convinces the Greeks to stay. Hector is a loving husband and father, and he fights to the death for his country and his people. Hector accepts, although his father, King Priam, and his wife urge him to stay. The entire city of Troy expresses their grief towards Hector for nine days, then they have a meal and burn his body on funeral fuel. They fast and burn Hector's body.
