Essay / Religion vs. Science - 1072
On the origin of religionOver the centuries, the epic battle between modern science and ancient religion has reached the level of wars, resulting in millions of deaths across all nations. Since the time of Galileo, religion has attempted to kill any form of scientific thought, logical reasoning, or theory. Science is not an innocent victim as it has always attempted to erase all religious meaning and the existence of God, through contaminated evolutionary theories and philosophical thinking. However, today's scientists reason more; believing that faith is a gift they have not yet received. A man without religion is like a horse without a bridle – Latin proverb. Religion can no longer meet people's aspirations because of the unbearable constraints it places on science, uncertainty about its value in a world spinning out of control, and the fact that it is a theory which lacks consistency in its system and evidence to support its beliefs, which contradicts many proven scientific findings regarding creation while denying itself. It cannot physically protect people from any harm that might happen to them. Science and religion are similar in that both are subject to constraints. In the case of religion, this constraint is faith. Those who condemn Darwin's theories regarding creation and evolution say he is an atheist who dedicated his work to the eventual end of religion. However, Charles was an intellectual scientist, whose work contributed to the anatomy of beings, advancing medicine. "The loss of religious faith is a slow and fragile process, like the uprising of continents. What can I tell you other than that the process now seems complete?" Charles Darwin explained this in a letter to his wife. (2009) He never intended to f...... middle of paper ......e. It is impossible for all religions to be right at the same time. Religion is at war with itself, and it must soon be settled. References and works cited: - Irvine, C. (February 11, 2011) “The Telegraph”.
