Advice LetterDear Samuel and Tina, I have put together a short guide for you both to use. This guide will help you all when it seems like you are having problems with interpersonal communication. First of all, I would like to congratulate you and wish you the best for your upcoming engagement. I am happy to pass this information on to you both. Thank you for asking my opinion, I am sure the information provided will be useful to you. Instead of wasting good information, we should all use whatever is useful to us. I hope these guidelines go some way to helping you use interpersonal communication effectively in your relationship. I will try to help you recognize, develop, evaluate, access and identify as a couple. If an individual cannot communicate, relationships do not strengthen and then begin to unravel without communication. The key to a successful marriage is communication, being honest with each other and recognizing the power of each other's words. Begin with the process by which self-concept is developed and maintained. Many relationships fail to prevent one person from loving themselves before trying to love someone else. A good thing to do is to do an assessment of yourself before you get married. Self-concept is a list of traits and characteristics that you use to describe yourself. “Today, most researchers believe that who you think you are is a complex mix of how you perceive yourself; how others see you; what your parents, teachers and peers have told you about yourself; and what your society or culture tells you you are or should be. Your self-image is learned; it is organized, dynamic and changing” (Purkey, 1988). Most of middle of paper......uh, communicating won't hurt, but make sure you've chosen the right person to open up to before you do so. If this person feels the same way about you, they will open up and share as much as you shared with them. Remember that in a relationship you are both 50/50 equal partners to make it 100 and you should have equal responsibilities. I've covered a few topics that come up in our daily situations during a relationship and I want to try to help you cope well and deal with any responsibility that may come your way. Remember that good communication skills and honesty are the key to a successful relationship. I hope this letter helps you and finds you well, with the above information provided to you. You both should have a happy and healthy relationship, wishing each other growth and a strong relationship to stay close..
