The National Security Agency is necessary to ensure the security of the United States and its population. Faced with the nationless entity of terrorism, we are obliged to design a response capable of effectively predicting and preventing acts of terrorism. The NSA is the most effective method of defense against the threat of extremist violence. The NSA, in its entirety, is absolutely vital to American interests, both domestically and internationally. Originally conceived as a small codebreaking unit during World War II, the Signal Security Agency worked to effectively protect the borders of the United States against Axis threats. As the United States developed, this once-small contingent grew into an incredibly large organization known today as the National Security Agency. The presence of the NSA is an extremely controversial issue because its methods of ensuring national security are often denounced as infringing on civil liberties. However, when analyzing the NSA and its presence, it is important to think wisely. Although minor violations of personal liberty may occur, it is paramount to be aware that in the grand scheme of national security, respect for all personal civil liberties is sacrificed to the maximum extent to ensure that the American people can live without the imminent threat of terrorism. . The United States is and always will be a target, and with our strength and power comes the need to maintain strong national security.
