The first representation involves Antigone and her scrupulous nurse. Their heartbreaking relationship is one of the cheesiest in the play as he leaves his puff and his dog in the care of the nurse. Well established in her care department, the Nurse did not notice Antigone's inconsistencies. She asks rather frankly if Antigone has taken a companion. Although Antigone is the opposite of Ismene's character, for the Nurse she is nonetheless another inexperienced and reckless girl like the rest of the young people. The nurse sees nothing that makes Antigone special compared to the other girls. Antigone told the nurse what she wanted to listen to and in some exposition explaining that she is like the others, pretending to have an admirer. Ismène and Antigone present themselves as competitors and foils. Ismène is shy, obedient, beautiful, reasonable, full-bodied and good
