    My interest in applying for the Master's program in Sustainable Development, Society and Environment dates back to November 2011, when I volunteered for four months at an NGO called Mountain Cleaners (Dharamsala, India).While managing waste collection projects and clean-up hikes, I discovered that working for the environment was actually a natural calling that I was destined to follow. However, after three years of running a travel company, my career in the industry was in full swing. So, following my volunteering period, when I was offered the position of project manager at Mountain Cleaners, it posed a professional risk. Nevertheless, I took the plunge and accepted the position. My role here was defined by the needs of the moment, with no set boundaries, but always with the fearless mission to work towards a cleaner India. Within a few months of joining the team, we saw the opportunity to expand our projects to other parts of India. Mountain Cleaners' continued growth, however, became increasingly difficult.
