  • Essay / Can a job really change your life? - 677

Imagine yourself as a teenager, what would it feel like to have your first job? For a teenager like me, having a job means having marked his transition from childhood to adulthood. It also means that you are independent and do not have to depend entirely on your family for your money. During the summer, I earned several hundred dollars a week working. Receiving my salary every two weeks was very rewarding because I was earning money on my own. Towards the end of my first year, I received an email from the Newark Museum; I had been accepted into the paid internship science program. During the interview for this position, the supervisor was amazed by my academic achievements, the awards I won during my women's college basketball season, and the volunteer service I performed in several locations including in a food bank and a student in the community. service at Saint Vincent Academy. She knew I would be a great fit for the program, that I would be able to balance school, basketball, and work, and that I would have a lot to give in the workplace and community. The fact that I got my first job at 15 meant that I was no longer a child and moving towards success. I started working at the Newark Museum during my sophomore year. I went on several school field trips and university visits, met lots of people and made new friends. Many wonderful opportunities were provided during this paid internship science program that I greatly benefited from, such as collaborating with the Chief Director of the Newark Museum, working as an assistant supervisor, and being a role model for my coworkers. My main tasks include scanning articles and books, posting upcoming events on the Newark Museum website... middle of paper ......taught me to be a good player of team both on the basketball team and at work. All the hard work I put into managing my schedule and working at the Newark Museum while studying was rewarding in the end. This has prepared me to aim for greater achievements in the future and adapt to work-related situations in the near future. A lot of big responsibilities come with having a teenage job. Being as young as I am, I was expected to embark very early on towards my first success in life. Through my professional experience, I have experienced adversity, integrity and success. These special feelings allowed me to truly appreciate life and the service I provided to the community. For this reason, I am ready to explore life more and strive to become a nurse anesthetist; giving back to the community through my service and helping those in need.
