Essay / The Nuremberg Code - 1058
Medical and experimental research is important to society and has helped cure diseases, cancer and other health problems in humans. But only if the experiments are to be ethical and the participant in the experiment is to have the right to choose whether to continue the experiment or research. In today's medical world, it would be very difficult for science and the community at large to accept that research or treatment similar to that of the Nazi doctors would result in the death of thousands of individuals tested and subjected to this research and development. The history of unethical research created the framework of the “Nuremberg Code” and the “Declaration of Helsinki”, the Belmont Report to protect and avoid painful and unnecessary death for humans and animals. Research must be useful and help cure diseases and must provide value to people. These experiments and tests on humans and animals are extremely inhumane. These searches are extremely risky and can cause harm to the person, and some extreme experiences could have endless effects on them. One of the most interesting articles on this research is "Ethics in Clinical Research: A History of the Protection of Human Subjects and the Practical Implementation of Ethical Standards" by David Perlman, Ph.D. and Glaxo Smith Kline. The article talks about ethical regulation and past inhumane practices towards people. There are several different research methods. The research can be conducted if there is proper technology and guidance with advanced technology, human could test the subject on other things, such as tree, plan, etc. However, after reviewing these articles, it became difficult to understand. the real reason behind these experiments is to be conducted and tested. Discuss the "Nuremberg Code"......middle of article......these on "the natural progression of syphilis". The "data collection" experiment was revealed by the "New York Times" in 1972. Originally, the research was only supposed to last a few months, but the data was very important to the doctor, it is why they continued the experiment. However, in 1940, the researcher refused to provide penicillin to the men. The main objective of this research was to collect data, the individuals chosen to participate are mostly uneducated and do not have good living conditions. These men are from the state of Alabama, in the town of Tuskegee. The researcher refused to provide “penicillin” treatment to the men. This action is unethical for the individual being observed. Even those who do no harm to the individual, but refuse treatment when it is available, are considered unethical to the researcher..
