Field Research and Analysis: In this quality of life research, I expected to gather more information and knowledge about animal testing. I also wanted to know what the public knew about this topic. Before I began my field research, I thought that few people knew about the real tortures of animal testing. The majority of the public did not know how many and on what types of animals were tested each year in the United States. However, I expected to raise awareness and educate myself on this issue. I managed to gather more information through interviews, observations and a questionnaire. I used all three aspects of field research: survey, observations and interviews. I created a survey sheet with 26 questions, including a Likert scale. I then made 100 copies of this survey and distributed it to the general public, including my school environment and that of my neighborhood. A large number of questions concerned people's opinions on animal testing for the majority of purposes, including cosmetic, medical and educational purposes. I also gathered the demographics of the people I interviewed, including their age, gender, and highest level of education. Additionally, I watched three animal testing videos to familiarize myself with what the environment actually looks like and the type of tests performed. Through this part of my research, I saw horrible conditions that I wish I hadn't seen. But if I had never observed this atmosphere, I would never have known what really happens in the laboratories. I found the interviews to be the most intriguing part of this study, which I organized via email. I wanted to hear the opinions of people who have fought and campaigned against animal testing. Also, I wanted... middle of paper ...... that animal testing is harsh and very cruel and I sometimes wonder if animal testing for medicine is even accurate or worth it pain in the end. If you think about it, what makes their lives worse than ours? Is it because we are smarter? However, to say this would be to say that more intelligent people are superior to those with lower IQs. It will take a long time before people begin to understand what is really going on in the world. It is difficult to create a perfect, utopian vision of what is human and moral. I'm sure with the research people are doing now, they are finding new ways to test different drugs without harming animals, such as growing human skin tissue and cells from stem cells. Over time, new theories will emerge and new methods of medical testing will surface that will benefit humans and animals, without harming either of them..
