Human rights activists are unable to express their opinions in the media due to the actions described by anti-gay supporters. Also in 2013, civil unions and same-sex marriages were banned, which was alluded to by the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill (Herszenhorn). These current events reflect how the two main protagonists react in the music video; as they walk on the sidewalk with wary eyes, they isolate themselves in nature where they go unnoticed. Society rejected this select group of individuals, forcing the gay community to commit these actions in secret. Many would even try to flee the country to free themselves from oppression.
