    The cacophonous side effects obtained from smoking cigarettes decrease the lifespan of people who smoke cigarettes. On the one hand, smoking cigarettes contains confusing chemicals strong enough to destroy stress levels; However, the level of staggering toxins added to the average cigarette causes cancer cells inside the smoker's body. Smoking cigarettes can cause many causes and effects in a smoker and deteriorate the immune system of the common smoker. Peer pressure is one of the main causes that can make a person start smoking. “Peer pressure is the main reason why most adolescents take up the unpleasant habit of smoking (Buzzle, 2011).” Teenagers feel that if they see their friends smoking a cigarette, then they are obligated to smoke one too. “Adolescents are not the only age group driven to smoke by peer pressure; adults are also encouraged to smoke (Buzzle, 2011). It is much more difficult to pressure adults into smoking because their level of self-confidence is higher than that of adolescents. There are a multitude of other factors that push someone to take up the loathsome habit of smoking. Stressful situations often cause people to inhale the harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. “The chemical substance nicotine relieves higher levels of stress (Buzzle, 2011).” Stress attacks a person's brain and persuades them to try anything that will help eliminate stress. “The average chronic smoker will tell you that smoking a cigarette completely eliminates their stress levels (Johnson, 2011).” In reality, smoking doesn't lower your stress levels; chemicals corrupt your thought process.
