GM mainly used social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogs. Millions of followers follow GM's tweet daily. We also noticed that millions of Facebook users visit the GM site daily. One of the web articles noted that "GM has more than twice as many Facebook likes (520,000) as Twitter followers (220,000)." The company not only relied on Facebook or Twitter, but also created a cross-functional team to quickly respond and interact with people talking about the company and its products on social media. This effort is highly recognized by the company to understand the customer's values as well as the company's target goal. This strategy is different from the one used by each organization to maintain balanced relationships among its competitors using the social network.
