It has been proven by research that after any type of sexual violence, sexual contact decreases. Survivors experience physical and emotional effects where sexual pleasure diminishes due to such trauma. These influences also lead to sexual dysfunction. The ability to not have sex before the assault also has detrimental consequences on self-esteem and self-image.
