    Is there destruction hidden in every love? The Great Gatsby written by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a superb example of the fact that love is indeed destructive. This novel follows the life of a young man named Jay Gatsby who does everything in his power to win Daisy's love again. In his attempt to find the most elegant Daisy, he gets everything he can ask for and everything she desires to have. Gatsby's ultimate determination leads him to destroy everything in his path, whether marriages, friends or lives. This reckless behavior leads to the terrible fate that later befalls Gatsby. All romantic relationships within the novel later lead to destruction. There is no doubt that love and destruction undeniably go hand in hand. An example of this romantic destruction would be the incident that occurs between Daisy and Myrtle. These two women were madly in love. Myrtle, sick of her hidden love for Tom, rushes in front of the car she thought Tom was driving in. Daisy, the one who actually drove, was caused by love....
