The Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality TV show is one of the top five most-watched reality TV shows today. As adults may know, these shows are scripted, staged and extremely entertaining, but they have a negative impact on young teenage girls. Teenage girls aged 11-17 who regularly watch these reality shows today believe that the shows depict real life are spontaneous and spontaneous (Dove self-esteem). Reality shows that today's air has very popular themes such as physical beauty and inappropriate behavior that we tend to see commonly. These themes have major effects on today's teenagers. The word "real" may appear in reality, but is it really real? For starters, reality TV has major effects on teenagers and their children. For example, in the show Bad Girls Club, a house full of young women displays endless gossip, aggressive language and also physical attacks towards each other. For teenagers, this may just be entertainment and may also make them believe that all these actions are acceptable. The Girl Scout Research Institute surveyed 1,100 girls ages 11 to 17, and 37 percent believe respect is earned by being mean more than by being nice. Not only do these shows show aggressive behavior, but they also show young women going out to a party, drinking a lot of alcohol, and dating men. With young teens being the biggest audience, shows forget to mention the negative effects that could possibly occur, such as getting pregnant or even catching a sexually transmitted disease. Low self-esteem and poor behavior? Don't let reality TV brainwash young girls in today's society. Parents or guardians can sit down with the young girls and tell them about the bad things happening in the shows. For the most part, these shows are for your entertainment only. Don't be a sponge, absorbing all the fake reality on shows and believe that's really who you're meant to be. Besides, wanting to be like someone else is the worst mistake you can make, being yourself is the best thing you can do because no one can ever be like someone else.
