    In Fahrenheit 451, many events relate to events that happened in history. This helps drive home the message that Bradbury is trying to get across. The story helps discourage censorship and excessive use of technology. This encourages intelligence, as firefighters burn books and diminish the remains of intelligent life on earth. There is a ton of symbolism in the book, to help identify what the book means and the author's goals. An example is that 451ยบ is the temperature at which they burn books. The story relates to book burnings and censorship in the modern era because the author wants to warn readers about technology taking over society and the problems with censorship in the future. In Fahrenheit 451, the government clearly doesn't want people to do certain things. things, for certain reasons. This is why the Nazis burned books and why Joseph McCarthy incited tons of people to attack actors and people he thought were communists.
