  • Essay / The impact of immigration on German society - 748

The concern is that either jobs will be sent to low-wage countries, or that foreigners will displace residential workers in the terminal country or discourage neighborhood compensation. The exchange hypothesis proposes that the versatility of creation variables decreases with respect to the foreign-made component and expands with respect to different elements. Therefore, high-talented migrants, for example, should reduce wages for high-talented work (the supply of high-talented work is currently more plentiful) and expand the return to capital and low-talented specialists (19). In fact, much of the German research finds a general positive effect of migration on local wages. Yet, given that most foreigners in Germany are low-talented workers, observational results suggest that local specialists cannot move, due to lower wages and higher unemployment.
