  • Essay / Argument Paper - 1040

As William James once said: "The best weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." » Currently, many students believe that stress is inevitable and is considered second nature; therefore, for students to be successful throughout their academic journey, they must experience stress. On the other hand, there is the idea that stress is harmful and affects physical and mental health; However, according to Dr. Kelly McGonigal, a person's belief or opinion about stress has less to do with death-related stress levels. In this case, she cites a study that found people who thought stress was harmful to their health had an increased risk of dying, and that people who viewed stress as harmless did not have an increased risk of dying. As a solution to address and resolve this problem that almost all students encounter, I propose that practicing social networking and social connection with peers and students who share the same goal will be the best solution to enable students to cope and reduce high stress levels. We believe that the first reason why social media should be the best solution adopted by students to solve this stress problem is the fact that its supporters provide enough evidence on the effectiveness of social media in solving this stress problem. As an example, there is the academic review “Exploring Facets Of A Social Network To Explain The Status Of Social Support And Its Effects On Stress” from the International Journal, Social Behavior & Personality” by Lin Chia, which presents that his research results conclude that students who have higher social interaction and support from other students experience less stress middle of paper......and therefore, I must admit that. The statement that online social networking tools help distract students by creating diversions is true. However, the real purpose of social networking is not the problem here. moral support. Even though our generation and today's society is heavily dependent on technology, I believe that every individual willing to truly benefit from the moral support provided by social media, would choose to network instead of getting caught up in these distractions. As a result, I think students who care about their health and grades should use social media to the point of communicating and sharing files with their peers; they should avoid at all costs the distraction that these social media sites have to offer.
