    This article highlights the need for orientation that international students must obtain in order to comply with the mission statements of higher education institutions. Cross-cultural integration through appropriate learning environments and helping achieve higher education success is a fundamental requirement of any educational institution (Delbanco, 2012), but the quality of American higher education has been questionable since the growth of student campuses. Using academic journal articles from the Journal of College Student Development, the Journal of Higher Education, and texts from Andrew Delbanco's College: What It Was and What Should Be, I will determine why it should be more meaningful guidance for students transferring to a new academic atmosphere. During the 20th century, national reports began to raise the case for the provision of non-individual and passive environments on campuses, which could not support students in their learning (Kezar and Kinzie, 2006). Additionally, colleges have failed to foster social or academic collaboration among international students, nor to promote mixing between international and American students. Without an appropriate framework that motivates learning and development, the future of individual students and the university community is uncertain. Therefore, a collective relationship between faculty and students as well as promoting integration among students from unique backgrounds is necessary to manage a solid foundation on which students can receive higher education and engage in their development staff.
