Knowledge of NinjasEven though everyone knows their name, how much do we really know about ninjas? Sure, we see ninjas in movies and in our books, but what part of ninja history we have no idea about. This research paper will explain most of the history of ninjas. “In modern films and comics, ninjas are depicted wearing all-black clothing, with only their eyes visible. Real ninjas wore navy blue for night operations. But generally, they dressed to blend in with the crowd of their targets” (History). Clothing was important to the ninja, but his weapons were even more important to the ninja. They had a few main weapons, including the following: the shinobigatana, medium-length swords, the bo, the naginata, war staves and pikes (Kallie). These weren't the only weapons used by ninjas. In fact, they even invented weapons. One of them was called the shuko, or iron crampon, that the ninjas climbed on. Another useful item invented by ninjas was the tessen, which was a sharpened metal fan (History). Ninjas could belong to three classes. The highest level in the ninja social order was the Jonin. This ninja could be called "the tall man". This ninja didn't take orders from anyone (Kallie). Chonin is the next level of the ninja social class. This ninja could be called "the man in the middle". This ninja received orders from the Jonin. The Chonin also gave orders to the Genin (Kallie). There is an additional class in the ninja social class. The name of this class is Genin.
