INTRODUCTIONWhat did you learn in this assignment? Are you getting information and gaining knowledge about the problem? Madam Manaf assigned me the task of completing the business information management assignment on the RBS IT outage “caused by an inexperienced agent in India”. This mission chronicles the Royal Bank of Scotland IT glitch that left millions of customers unable to access their accounts and could have been caused by a single junior technician in India. The advantage I learn from this assignment is that I gained experience on how to do in-depth research and after doing this assignment I know how to prepare my final year project report. In addition to this, I can develop a deeper understanding of the case study which can be imparted only by the professors. For example, in this case study, I can understand what the story is about and how to answer the question asked. Next, what I'm learning in this assignment is demonstrating that I can conduct research, or analysis, at a level appropriate for a degree program. The curriculum asked me to answer the question with a longer answer and give the appropriate example regarding the question. Also, during this mission I get a lot of information about the RBS computer failure. The information I get from this case study is that I know what outsourcing is and what is the competitive advantage that companies can get through IS/IT outsourcing, for example, the company can avoid the salary of the IS/IT professional, the company can reduce costs, make the workforce more efficient in the company and reduce construction operations and overhead costs.
