The myths of werewolves, witches and fairies swept the world, each shaped by a culture, an era and other bizarre events that people couldn't explain. These mythical creatures have terrified and awed audiences around the world throughout time. One of the most famous and modified myths ever to be shaped by any culture is that of the vampire. The vampire has gone from a feared, virtually omnipotent, loathsome creature to a popularized icon of mystery, romance and undeniable sex appeal. Before becoming the vampires of today, the vampire underwent changes in its appearance, the bite it produced, the materials that repelled it, and how it was ultimately destroyed. Nosferatu, the first vampire film, made in 1922 and directed by FW Murnau, depicts Count Orlok, the vampire, as a beast. He was a monster who slept in a coffin day and night, roaming the lands in search of fresh blood. The surrounding villages are full of people terrified of the Count. Hutter, a real estate agent, receives a book from these people warning him about "Nosferatu", a horribly ugly vampire. In this book, the book says that the vampire feasts on the blood of humans, and the only way to stop them is for a pure-hearted woman to sacrifice herself for him so that he loses track of time and gets surprised at daybreak. foreshadowing the end of the film. Count Orlok is a revolting-looking creature, closely resembling a rat. He has long fingers and nails, oddly shaped teeth, and graying hair. He also possesses supernatural abilities shown throughout the film, such as superhuman strength, transfiguration, and it appears he can fly.
