ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a psychological disorder prone to ethical issues in its treatments through the use of methylphenidate otherwise known as Ritalin, Ritalin is the current primary form of pharmacological treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. (ADHD), and there has been a dramatic increase in the rate of prescription over the past decade, raising ethical issues surrounding its prescription. There is currently no biological basis for ADHD diagnostic findings that lead doctors to make their diagnosis based on behavioral symptoms such as hyperactivity and inability to concentrate. Considering that these symptoms are behaviors that everyone can express at some point in their life, the risk of overdiagnosis of the disease increases. This may subsequently lead to overprescription of Ritalin. Diagnosing ADHD is particularly difficult in young children because its symptoms are based on judgments of behavior in comparison to other children who exhibit "normal behavior." There should also be boundaries between the patient and their psychologists and there should not be any form of sexual interaction between the two parties. Regarding pharmacological treatments for patients suffering from ADHD, the overprescription of Ritalin must be reviewed because more and more young children are forced to take this medication, which often leads the child to lose his or her personality freedom. These ethical issues need to be considered when these drugs are given to children so that they can integrate into a normal socially behavioral society, which exposes them to discrimination..
