    In the Bacteria and Viruses Lesson, students will understand the differences between bacteria and viruses and how their spread has influenced history. The lesson will integrate math, reading, and social studies so that students achieve the lesson objective. Mathematics integration will include graphing and analyzing data. Integrating reading and social studies will include reading articles about the main ideas and researching how illnesses have influenced history. In addition to integrating other content areas into the science lesson, it also accommodates different learning styles. The selection of learning styles addressed by the lesson is based on the characteristics of the students in the class. There is a mix of logical and creative thinkers; therefore, the use of the cerebral hemispheres assessment is aimed at both types of learners. Almost all students in the class enjoy solving problems, but how they solve them varies. To ensure problem solving needs are met, cerebral hemisphere and color assessment will be used. Although the lesson was not directly designed for kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learners, parts of the lesson are aimed at each type of learner. The lesson builds on learning reinforcements for each student's learning style and allows them to interact with others who may not learn or express their ideas in the same way. Throughout the lesson, both the left-brained learner and the right-brained learner are welcomed. According to the Hemispheric Mode Indicator, both left- and right-brain learners enjoy solving problems. This is important in the lesson because students will work together to create realistic solutions to concerns about the spread of disease.
