Since last year, farmers have started using SRI (Rice Intensification System) technique for rice cultivation which gives high yield. Most of the women in the village are unemployed and so were encouraged by the Mineral Foundation members to set up SHGs. These SHGs help in cooking for the groups of guests who visit “Aangan”. 6 SHGs have equal opportunity to serve the guests. This helps women to be independent and earn money to support themselves. Income generated from homestays is shared by the family, the guide and the cooperative society. A minority of households practice dairy production
