Google is an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products, including search, software, cloud computing, and online advertising technologies. It is considered the largest search engine on the web. Due to its popularity in the technology world, Google proves the strength of the company. Google has been integrated into our culture which can be illustrated by the use of the verb “google”. The term Google was approved and became official in 2006. Literally, the verb “google” means to retrieve information (Chen, Chug, Lui & Jun, 2007). As a result, the term has become common enough in our normal conversations “Just Google it.” » (Noon, 2006) Despite its immense efficiency and reputation, the birth of Google has modest origins in the garage of the founders' two friends. Two doctoral students from Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founded Google. The Google search engine was officially launched on September 4, 1998 (Google Company, 2014). Primarily, Google began as the basic subject of Page and Brin's research project. Page, who was a student in the computer science department at Stanford Graduate School, was looking for a research idea for his doctoral dissertation. He studied why it was very difficult to establish a "backlink", which is a hyperlink that links from one web page to your own web page or website and helps keep track of other pages on the Web that link to the author's publication (Webopedia, 2014). At that time, moving from one link to another was quite simple, however, going back from one link to its previous link was a difficult process ( Page One Power, 2014). On top of that, when searching the web, searchers could find many documents containing the words they were looking for, but there were too many unrelated and unranked results. By 1996, Page's idea had grown and built a search engine. called “BackRub” which used links to determine the importance of individual web pages (Lenssen, 2007). However, the project was too overwhelming for Page to handle alone, so Brin, a student in the computer science department, joined Page on the project.
