Binge drinking and binge drinking among American college students and American adults have been proven to be extremely dangerous and responsible for many deaths . Therefore, there must be a considerable change in the amount of alcohol consumption in the United States, and this change will result in an explicit change in the amount of alcohol consumed. The first article chosen is entitled “Alcohol mixed with energy drinks: consumption patterns and motivations for use among American students”. This article written by Cécile A. Marczinski discusses the “popular new trend of drinking alcohol mixed with energy drinks (AmED)” (Marczinski 1). It covers many topics, including the number of deaths and injuries that occur each year due to alcohol-related problems. Additionally, the article gives a wide range of statistics on binge drinking among American college students. The second article found was written by several authors, but one of them, Timothy S. Naimi, is titled "Binge Drinking Among US Adults." This article is the predecessor to “Alcohol Mixed with Energy Drinks: Consumption Patterns and Motivations for Use Among US College Students.” It covers many of the same topics as the most recent article, but focuses strictly on binge drinking among American adults, not college students. It also gives lots of insightful information and statistics about excessive alcohol consumption among American adults. An interview with Ann Wooten, board president of House Corporation of Chi Omega, a sorority at UNC Chapel Hill, that I conducted myself, is a valuable contribution to the ongoing dialogue because it proves that alcohol consumption among American college students is life-threatening. and it is a growing epidemic that has ravaged the United States for years.
