Essay / Is Captain America a patriotic hero? - 744
He is the definition of a patriotic hero. He is the true symbolism of man and the definition of freedom, strength and compassion. Inevitably, after being unable to serve his country, he still chose to protect it in a different way. Most would have gone in a completely different direction. This is where a lot of people go wrong in the United States. As a result, most simply raise their hands rather than fight for what they believe. Francis Scott Key wrote these famous words in the 1800s: “Land of the free and home of the brave.” (http://www.theglobalist.com/the-land-of-the-free-and-the-home-of-the-brave/) They are now part of our national anthem. Nonetheless, the American Dream is what every man and woman in the United States lives, works, and dies trying to achieve. The typical American dream is to have a car, a family, a job, and own your own home. It’s something that all Americans are taught to desire from a young age. You have to work to succeed or have something in life, but having the “dream” is much more when you take into account life expectancy. Most are frustrated trying to achieve these dreams because they want more. We can never be satisfied or happy. Instead, if we lived appreciating the small aspects of life such as: freedom, compassion and the strength of our country, we would appreciate more of what life has to offer.
