We must recognize them as our heritage and then we can establish what is worth saving. Educating people on this topic can be key to helping protect other historic architecture and our heritage. In the case of Iraq, how can their heritage sites be saved? This question will take time to answer, but we need to look at it as a whole and explore all possibilities. Perhaps more funds could help. Architecture and their sites belong to our historical and cultural past. We must show them our respect. No matter what they look like, beautiful, very historic, ugly, we have to protect whatever we can, whatever is worth saving. So in the end, what is worth saving? The answer is anything that shows some of our richest heritage, but to some extent only buildings and sites of true value should be saved and preserved. As Russell Smith said in his Globe and Mail article: “Let us preserve our great architecture and historic sites by all means, and be open-minded when it comes to architectural value. But let's not confuse pride in history with the vague, emotional feeling that everything was better in the past. » (Smith,
