As an educator, my job is to make sure parents are informed about their child(ren). So we can problem solve and try to help resolve whatever is going on. I also think it's important for teachers to contact parents when things are going well. When a student's grades change positively, I also think contact should be made. I think teachers should find out what means of communication work best for parents. Maybe the parent works a lot and can only read an email or answer a quick phone call during lunch. As a teacher, you need to be flexible with parents in many areas.
