Powers are very important in international relations because it has changed throughout humanity and many great power countries have experienced a period of greatness in history. However, international relations can also define power in many aspects. For example, one way of exercising power in international relations is for one actor to exert influence over another, which has caused many conflicts in international politics today. International relations can also describe this category of power: hard power or soft power. In the field of hard power, many ways can be mentioned. For example, the United States has a gigantic hand in terms of military size and technology over other major powers. In addition to this, the concept of power in international relations is mainly used by realist thinkers who believe and feel that the world is more extreme. They believe that countries must be very strong, because others can attack anyone at any time. In other words, every nation must have a strong military and economy to defend itself in times of crisis.
