Essay / Booker T Washington Character Analysis - 1104
The greatest legacy he left to his students and to the South was the value of being diligent, facing difficulties with will, optimism, and strength. Furthermore, his charity was not one-sided, nor hindering other races in order to ensure the advancement of his own; rather, it was universal and inclusive. Finally, his humility is seen through how he perceives himself, rather than how others perceive him. Thus, his efforts were rewarded, and he is honored to this day not only by the African Americans who were closest to his heart, but by all of America, because of his supreme example of ascension to a noble life from a pitiful world.
