I loved this topic mostly because it gave me the opportunity to simply write and argue my position. The professor asked us to take a side on the main issue, write a professional academic essay, and use supporting evidence to explain why we took that side. The information in this essay is based on an article we read ourselves, consisting of segments from patient doctors and even stories from people involved in the process. My first step was of course to read the article carefully and pay attention to the details. Then I started thinking and writing. I had the article next to me as I wrote to ensure I could use good supporting evidence. I had to write several different drafts, which helped me develop “independently using the recursive writing process to generate these multiple drafts.” I learned from this essay that using supporting evidence and accurate and appropriate citations can be very helpful. It also helped me understand how the author structured his article to make it as effective as possible. I had to “use appropriate, discipline-specific language to evaluate the writer’s writing process.” Ultimately, what you saw of my work was a well-supported academic essay that contained clear examples and evidence from doctors, patients, and other resources.
