Isabel Allende, a Latin American writer, escaped her own assassination twice and witnessed the destruction of her own family by her home country, Venezuela . Supporters of a military coup in the 1970s directed their hatred and anger at the family, destroying their property and ultimately destroying their lives. These experiences kept Isabel Allende very close to her family, although later she found herself in emotional shock after the deaths of family members and replaced her pain with writing. In mid-life, Isabel Allende was inspired by the changes in her lifestyle under the Pinochet dictatorship and the deaths of her grandfather and daughter to write novels such as Paula, The House of the Spirits and The City of Beasts. displaced childhood until the 1973 military coup in Venezuela. At a young age, Allende's father, Tomas Allende, left home and mother Isabel (Rodden).
