Essay / The devastating effects of global warming - 1654
What is global warming and what does it mean. Global warming is any substantial change in the Earth's climate. Global warming refers to climate change that causes an increase in the average temperature of the lower atmosphere. Global warming can have many different causes, but it is most commonly associated with human interference, particularly the release of excessive amounts of greenhouse gases. Global warming is also known as the greenhouse effect. The increase in human population has affected the world. Our population growth has increased our consumption of fuel, land and manufacturing. All of this causes an increase in emissions into the Earth's atmosphere, which causes global warming. I answered a questionnaire on global warming. I asked five questions and distributed them to 25 different people. After getting my article back, the result was incredible: how much people knew and didn't know about it. Twenty people knew what global warming was and the other five did not. Only eight people knew what the greenhouse effect was. He also questioned whether El Nino was linked to global warming. Seven people said it was related and the other 18 said it was not. Along with other observations about global warming, we also asked people if they knew that the climate was becoming more variable and extreme. Nineteen out of 25 people knew that the climate had changed. I ask them if they knew that sea levels were rising and 22 people knew about it. With climate change, with glaciers melting and moving at surprising speed, some people say the world's climate is trapped. Africa and East Asia have curbed rainfall in dry areas caused by El Niño. If Greenland's ice melted enough, instead of sinking into the sea, it would be like a landfill... middle of paper ... worry about the impact of global warming on our world. These people don't believe that such things will happen, but it has already started. If we as a human race fail to find a solution to this problem, there will be no world left to live on in the future. There will be no future for our children and grandchildren. So, everyone should be aware of what is happening and what will happen to Earth later in the future. Works Cited Bily, Cynthia A. Global Warming: Opposing Viewpoints.
