    Although this was implemented so that companies would start offering comparable salaries, this was not the result. “The difference between men's and women's wages is actually greater today than it was in 1963 — the year the federal Equal Pay Act was signed into law” (Stencel) . It is surprising that such a law has existed for five years and that companies still refuse to grant the same salary to some of their employees. These women have the same level of education and skills and yet companies have still not made a change. Not only that, but the fact that the government is not enforcing the law and punishing companies that do is almost insane.
