Essay / Legal Driving Age - 887
Many young people between the ages of sixteen and eighteen are bold, they mostly want freedom, but with freedom comes responsibility and most young adults don't have that. They want to have fun before becoming adults. There are too many problems with minors when it comes to driving. Can we risk the safety of Canadians for juvenile teenagers? Can we let them run wild in our streets to entertain us? Young people are known for partying, sneaking out, drinking; when it's illegal and we can't let people like these cause chaos on our streets. Minors are also too easily distracted by the latest technology, their friends and other passengers. Teenagers also like to eat, talk, and groom themselves, which provides a distraction. A distraction is anything that could take a person's attention away from their primary task, which is driving. Studies have shown that sixteen year olds are immature and their minds are not fully developed and therefore should not be able to drive. They also don't have enough experience, as most young people get their license at the age of sixteen and hardly practice road safety before that. Teenagers regularly cause trouble, they should not be allowed to drive until they are eighteen. Sixteen-year-olds simply yearn for freedom. In today's generation, technology is easily accessible, which could distract teenagers. Technology is one of the leading causes of accidents among teenagers each year: “Among drivers aged fifteen to nineteen involved in fatal accidents, twenty-one percent of distracted drivers were distracted by technology. use of cell phones. » Teenagers use their cell phones a lot. This shows that many teenagers are distracted by technology, leading to accidents, deaths and injuries. Many young people are overwhelmed by electronics and machines that today ...... middle of paper ...... would not worry about the absence of their child at home. A lot of accident rates would be reduced. Bluetooth should be introduced for teenagers and adults, to keep them from messing with their phones. Teenagers are still reckless and we don't want them to continue to increase accident rates in Canada with the increase in technology and available distractions. Teenagers are too immature and don't have the brain power to drive, nor do they have the necessary experience. There are many steps that could be taken to allow young people to drive, but the best option would be to raise the driving age limit to eighteen and above. The Canadian government should change the laws immediately!Works CitedDistraction.gov/content/get-the-facts/facts-and-statistics.htmwww.rmice.org/auto/teens/Teens-Driving-Statistics.aspadf.ly/djwCoadf. ly/djxPThttp:/adf.ly/djuxs
