Culture is a powerful influence that plays an important role in our interactions. Culture can also impact parenting style and child development. Having a strong sense of their own cultural history and associated traditions helps children build a positive cultural identity. It also strengthens children's sense of belonging and, by extension, their mental health and well-being. This course is crucial for parents, staff and children to understand and work well. An effective educator understands how students' culture affects their perceptions, self-esteem, values, classroom behavior, and learning. As a principal, I must use this understanding to help my students and staff feel welcomed, affirmed, respected, and valued. One way to do this is to use multicultural literature, especially children's literature, to honor students' cultures and foster cross-cultural understanding. It will be my duty to do everything in my power to overcome linguistic and cultural differences to ensure a positive learning environment for students.
