College and StressThere are many stressors that students encounter as they strive to achieve their educational goals. Their grades may be affected by the stressors of daily life that accumulate throughout the semester. Student financial needs, lack of social support, family drama, and other various circumstances can all create tremendous stress and lead to poor grades and a lack of credits collected. In fact, stress continues to be a constant problem in people's lives (Holmes & Rahe, 1967; Viner, 1999) and these "life demands stressors" are unavoidable and can be overwhelming and are linked directly or indirectly to underperforming individuals due to mental and psychological problems. physiological symptoms (Holmes and Rahe, 1967; Joseph, Mynard and Mayall, 2000). Several research studies show how the stressors students encounter during college can affect their mental and physical well-being, which correlates with their academic performance. The economy has had a negative contribution to students because it makes their financial needs greater. difficult to achieve. The economy is not in the best shape and the state it is in makes it more difficult for students to afford books. Not to mention their tuition fees, rent, and other necessities of life. By making students' daily lives increasingly difficult to afford due to the economic downturn, students' academic performance can translate into poor grades.
