    In the spring of 2013, the Boston Marathon bombed. Hundreds of people had their bodies mutilated. Victims were rushed to the emergency room like it was hell on Earth so they could have their arms and legs amputated. Surgeries continued all day and without these nurses, doctors and surgeons, many people would have died that day. Becoming a citizen whose profession is in the medical department is what I dream and desire to do as a career. The two professions that provide these opportunities are surgical nurse (RD) and sports medicine physician. Even though I am only fourteen years old, I know that these two careers will bring me so much joy and satisfaction. I look forward to becoming one of these two inspiring professions. I researched both careers and learned that they have similarities, but also dramatic differences. Although a surgical nurse and a sports medicine physician are related through their membership in the medical service, they differ on issues such as salaries and training standards.
