The gun control debate is over, and America should enact laws that will force gun owners to register their firearms. A background check on every citizen carrying a gun is necessary so that guns do not fall into the arms of criminals and the mentally ill. To think that people can use guns to fight for their freedom is a far-fetched idea worth thinking about. However, gun control is not the only solution as it is necessary to educate the population about the risks of owning weapons and ask them to surrender them as they wish.
